I am a geologist interested in how the structural evolution of the lithosphere and surface weathering processes shape landscapes over time. My research uses minerals as clues to untangle these histories, from using thermochronology and geochronology to reconstruct long-term motion along the southern San Andreas Fault, to integrating spectroscopy and geochemistry to investigate weathering of the alpine ultramafic rocks. By combining field observations with laboratory techniques, I work to understand how tectonics, climate, and chemistry interact to sculpt Earth’s surface.
