About Me

Upon entering California Lutheran University as an art major, I chose to enroll in Introduction to Geology. The class quickly caught my interest and after returning from a weekend field trip to Death Valley (pictured on the left), I changed my major. Structural Geology became a passion of mine. I conducted undergraduate research on the Miocene Monterey formation and soon realized my goal of obtaining a graduate degree. My masters research involved remote geologic mapping of the Ischigualasto basin in Argentina using satellite imagery and a DSM. I am currently working on my PhD at the Brown University where I am using thermochronometry to understand the timing of the large scale tectonic processes that have constructed modern landscapes.

Outside of geology, I have always enjoyed being active. I competed on my undergraduate swim team where I learned to balance life as a student athlete. In my spare time you will most likely find me outside, either hiking, rock climbing or chilling with my dog, Frankie.
